When are senior nationals? Can a senior participate in a spring sport and wrestle at the senior nationals? The way I understand it you can't. That does not seem right to me.

Top 3 in states at some time in your 4 year career. Or if you won some national tournaments. They have a sheet you have to fill out and send in.

Sorry did not read your whole note. You can still wrestle even if you are playing a spring sport.

The MHSAA has a rule that the individual state meet cannot be used as a qualifier for any event and high school athletes are not allowed to participate in an event that invites individuals based on MHSAA events. This disqualifies them from participating in any MHSAA events, such as a spring sport.

I think that senior Nationals are in June after school is out. Bubba Gritter participated in spring track and in Senior Nationals last year.

Sory my mistake National FS/Greco duels are in June, I think Senior nationals is in April or May. Though Gritter did all three.

Getting a letter of understanding from MHSAA seems the best. There is a "loophole" as in the aforementioned case of Bubba Gritter, as MHSAA (as I know it) sees Freestyle and Greco as a DIFFERENT sport and as such it does not count against folkstyle competition rules....at least that is what I have always been told A simple e-mail that you print out from MHSAA would be a good safeguard.
