Heyward is THE obvious #1 choice....STATEWIDE.
The others are "Up North". To answer your question, no...they cannot.

At this point, YES. 1st Mark Weber GOODRICH will be a sophmore with a 47- 2 record last year. 1st Heyward of Marlette, 50-0, will be a senior, he gets the nod at this point. It's all a guessing game right now anyway

Mark Weber has to be considered a strong favorite. He was second in the nation in the Cadet Nationals in Fargo, ND, this past summer; winning nine out of ten matches. I realize it was freestyle versus folkstyle...however, he faced some of the toughest kids at his weight. I don't know Heyward, but he sounds like a great young man, too.

i saw shawn mcdowell from constantine at the scrimmage on friday here at stevensville lakeshore, i believe he was a state qualifier in d3 last year 112 and he's gonna be 112 again in d4, he looked tough as nuts and should be a favorite as well
CoachB added:
Hittle beat McDowell last year 5-0 to take 5th.
McDowell lost a close match in round one to Norman.
I think he's a definite one to look at in D4!

It's all a guessing game right now anyway are you basing that off the fact weber had two losses?? *cough, better competition**cough. weber would not have too much difficulty winning this one

wow...that was made in November and it was a toss up at that point, no one had even wrestled in the new season, maybe Weber moved to Ohio or weighed 119...who knew. Nothing is in stone...in my mind I gave the nod to a kid who had a perfect record and won states easy. It was just an early opinion...I think you are taking it all way to seriously. And I believe it was Dan Gable who said anyone can be beaten on any given day. Maybe that's why I don't do predictions.

I haven't really heard of any big matches that hayward has had with D4 competition maybe he's wrestled other tough kids from another division but at this point in the season my focus is turned toward watching the big matches at state....
