The Marlette wrestling team participated in a quad meet on Dec. 14. Marlette opened with a 36-34 loss to Cass City.
The match opened in unique fashion when both squads voiding 103 before Marlette’s Bernie Marx gained a 5-2 decision over Andrew Peruski at 112.
Marlette then defeated Lakers by a 42-30 count.
Both teams voided at 103 and Marlette claimed the next five weight classes.
Cory Ferguson took 112 when he pinned Jacob Deering at 1:54, Bernie Marx claimed 119 when he pinned Brennum Lange at 2:23 and Jon Hayward gained 125 on a pin at the 3:09 mark over Lakers Kyle Volker.

Dan Sabin's record is currently 10-3 two of his losses were by 1 point one @ 125 and the other against Jenison's 119lber and then he just currently had a fun match with Brandon Zeerip that lasted all 3 periods. He lost either 10-1 or 11-1. Needs more work on his feet. Pretty good on bottom and amazing leg riding skills. Rode Zeerip the whole third period but was too tired to turn him. He was feeling ill earlier in the week but side he was fine and was excited to wrestle Zeerip. I didn't believe him cuz his first match he only won 6-3 but he said he was really focus on the match and really only cared about wrestling Zeerip. Afterwards he said it was fun and can't wait till next time.

Score from Sabin vs. Zeerip Match?

Score was Zeerip 11 Sabin 1. Zeerip dominated on his feet and i think surprised Sabin with his aggressiveness. After being put to his back early Sabin wrestled a better match. The third period interested me when Sabin easily dominated Zeerip physically just didn't score any points. Zeerip also kinda stalled it out like most wrestlers would being up so high wrestling against a leg wrestler a wrong move and you're pinned. Great match by both wrestlers just wish it was closer.
