Is there any rule from MSHAA regarding wrestling for high school and then wrestling in an open tournament ? ie; Montrose Youth Holiday Invitational. Can you be 14 wrestle for high school and still wrestle at this tournament?

I don't have the rulebook here in front of me but I'll take a stab at it. One: Ramchargers do not say 14 but NOT a freshman or on a high school team, some tournaments do have that qualification. Ramcharger link is here www.geocities.com/montroseramchargers/HolidayTournament.htmlAs I recall and I would not register until this is confirmed but I "believe" you can wrestle TWO outside MHSAA events during your season in the same style. That being said I also believe you can participate in OTHER sports during the MHSAA season. Ex: boxing, karate, freestyle, Roman Greco. I believe MHSAA sees these as separate sports....at least that is what I have been told by more than one source concerning that interpretation. A letter from MHSAA answering your question or FAX with short notice would be best. Good luck...by the list of wrestlers pre-registered, it looks like this will be a great Christmas tournament.

Thanks Bunches! I am the webmaster of that site. However the rule wasn't clear. I heard a couple different versions and wanted to make sure. There was no clarification on the registration. Another parent was asking to make sure and I wanted to get them the right answer.
